Teach Python with a live view of every student
Invite students with a link, a code or a QR, assign practice problems and quizzes, and see who is stuck while there is still time to help. Python runs in the browser, so there is nothing to install.
How it works
1Create
Name your class. You get a link, a 6-character code and a QR code.
2Share
Post the link in your class group, or put the QR code on the projector. Students join in seconds.
3Assign
Pick from 50 practice problems, 25 challenges, 14 section quizzes and 116 tutorials, or a ready-made weekly set.
4Watch
A live board fills in as students solve. See who is stuck, and the code behind every answer.
What you get
Live progress board
Students by problems, filling in as they solve. Struggling students are flagged so you know where to walk over.
Every answer, with its code
Open any student to see their solutions, attempts, hints used and time spent.
Leaderboard and class goal
Friendly competition, or a shared target the whole class pushes towards. You decide what students see.
Runs in the browser
Python runs on each student’s own device: Chromebooks, lab PCs and phones, nothing to install.
Co-teachers and teams
Add teaching assistants, run a study group, or onboard a team at work.
Export and portfolios
Download results as CSV. Students can save each solution to their own GitHub portfolio.
Questions teachers ask
- Is it free?
- Yes. Creating classes, assigning work and the live board are free for teachers and students.
- Do students need an account?
- They sign in with a free GitHub account, which also gives them a public portfolio of their solutions. GitHub accounts are for ages 13 and up.
- What can I see as a teacher?
- Who joined, what each student solved, how many tries and hints it took, how long they spent, and the code of their solutions.
- Can students see each other’s work?
- Only if you allow it: the leaderboard and the solution gallery are switches in the class settings. Solutions unlock for a classmate only after they solve the same problem.
- Can I use it for a study group or a team at work?
- Yes. Choose "Study group", "Team" or "Company" when you create it; everything works the same way.
